President Chavez, where are you?

Every time something happens in Venezuela, the president disappears. Instead of showing himself in command he is nowhere to be seen. Nasty rumors abound that he gets depressed and has to be medicated whenever something happens. I don't know if that is the case, but is really estrange the way he looks for a big confrontation just to avoid it in the big moment... weird, no?

No gasoline in Venezuela

PDVSA has gone into an administrative strike, gas stations are not receiving gas... The lines at gas stations are incredible... I decided not to put gas as the situation may improve soon. Will this be the end of this sad government?

Latin America's Muzzled Press. Democracy may have spread throughout Latin America, but the widespread curtailment of press freedoms is worrisome.

From the outset of his rule, Venezuela's president, Hugo Chávez, targeted the traditionally free media, viewing them as a threat to his combative brand of left-wing authoritarianism. He routinely launches into diatribes against the press, and his followers have physically attacked media outlets.
