More on the Viaduct

I have said elsewhere that for even the alternate road to have a chance to exist several things must happen. First, the people living below in the valley have to be taken out (hence the expropriation of buildings in Caracas, so the government can offer a lie with substance). Second, the viaduct has to be brought down, then the creek there have to be flowing in a stable manner, and, finally, the new road can be built. Miguel sends what will happen if not:

Coincidence?

Apple Stock closed today 80 86... By the way... Don't you think is funny that the new Intel processors are much faster than the G5, that used to be faster than the previous Intel processors? Weird, Ah?

I did it...

Just to dispel any doubts, I am so happy I was wrong in my early prediction about Apple laptops, that I pre ordered one immediately, of course some people were as wrong as I was, but less happy. I've been saying for a 8 months you shouldn't buy a Mac, you can still screw up by getting one of these. MacHeads will still find reason to get them...

I hope I'm wrong...

But I don't believe Apple will introduce any new computers today, at least, none sporting an Intel Chip that you can buy next week...

How Apple Could Mess Up, Again  —  The Innovator's Dilemma author Clayton Christensen outlines his case for why Apple's propietary strategy will soon fail, just as it did before … These days it's hard to find a pundit willing to question Apple Computer's (AAPL) long-term prospects or the calls of its famous CEO, Steve Jobs.

[tech.memeorandum]

The main question one should ask is: How come Windows is not a proprietary technology? If it is, then the assumption that Apple's iTunes/iPod couldn't become the standar is just prejudice. If it isn't then the definition of proprietary is just weird. I agree with the idea that industries tend to standard and not proprietary plattforms, I disagree with the timing. It hasn't happened yet in computers (not in the OS part), why should it happened in three years in music?

Not surprisingly at all...

"A new report from the Inter-American Development Bank suggests that the constant search for the hot new idea may be focused on the wrong thing. Perhaps it's not what you do, but how you do it. The study found that countries that scored well on how policies are made and carried out are the places where life is improving.

Not surprisingly, Chile is at the top of the list. More surprisingly, El Salvador is also highly ranked. Argentina and Venezuela are near the bottom."
