This is a typical example of using technology to solve a solved problem. The French beurrier has this nailed down for ages. Here is a modern version you can get. Refrigeration is not needed to preserve butter. With little effort on your part, the beurrier will keep the butter fresh and spreadable. This remind me of a story from the heyday of the dot-com bubble. A company was claiming efficiency and advance technology because they were scanning the bills they received to send to some consulting firm (Andersen?) for them to pay and process, they were outsourcing their accounting and payments with them. As it's usual with me I fail to understand the point and asked: "Why aren't the bills sent directly to Andersen?" The silence that followed made me realized that I wasn't to dense to figure out the reason... there was no reason...

1080i vs. 1080p HDTV: should you care?. This seems to be on everyone's minds as we head into the holiday buying season and we're faced with more HDTV buying choices than ever before. Just buy a "standard" 720p/1080i set or step up and pay the extra bucks for a higher-resolution 1080p set? [digg]
I just got a Plasma TV and I think this is all BS. Actually, you have to look at the sources. In the US you can rarely find a source that gives 720p. In Venezuela 480i is the norm with 480p possible only from DVDs using a progressive scan player... Why waste money on more resolution you can't use?

This sounds like Chavez is somewhat nervous about the withdrawal of the three opposition parties. I believe it is a reporting problem. He invited the opposition voters to select a Chavista candidate, very intelligent. He didn't seem afraid at all. Which means he has the bodies to show up on sunday to back up his 10 million vote dream... I wonder how they will do it... But other dictatorships have done it for ages.
