N-Gage RIP
Nokia lets the N-Gage die a quiet death. Nokia, makers of the widely-hyped but poor-selling N-Gage gaming phone, has announced that they will no longer be developing new mobile gaming devices. Does this mean gaming phones failed? By jeremy@arstechnica.com (Jeremy Reimer). [Ars Technica] While Nokia made some mistakes in its first N-Gage, it was the N-Gage QD that seal its fate. It corrected the mistakes, but also took a lot of nice features (GSM bands, Mp3 player, FM Radio, etc), making it less of a deal. This should be put in business books... How to screw up an expensive launch.
