My wife's signature has to be repaired. She is really pissed. A rough calculation says that about 25-30% of the signatures are either invalid or have to be repaired. Whoever doesn't believe this was cheating has to take into account that it is not necessarily true that the place for repairing a signature will be near the place where the signature was originally gathered...

iTunes ushers in a year of change. One year after its launched, Apple's song store has changed the way the music industry views online distribution--and the way Americans buy music. [CNET News.com]

And what a year it has been! A year ago only a few Mac fans wanted to talk about this. Today everybody asks questions and has doubts about it... But they are opening online music stores left and right. All without much differentiation and little thought. I just don't see how this can be a price war when they are all losing money. Latte art, part two. Following up on this earlier Boingboing post, an anonymous reader points us to this cool news article about a guy in Australia who totally trumps all those sucka baristas still making wimpy little hearts and zigzags in the caffe lattes. He paints faces in foam. Each portrait only takes him about 30 seconds, so your drink doesn't go cold. Snip:

"When you pour the milk in and the cream hits, it's just like a blank canvas on which to paint," the 36-year old said. Mr Phillips and fiancee Bernadette Farrugia started Flavors of Lakhoum in Swan St five years ago and he dabbled with the idea while pouring coffee.

"Sometimes you see swirls and patterns when you're pouring the coffee in, and one day I was pouring it and I saw an eye appear," he said. "From there I just drew in a mouth and ears. I've been slowly practising since then, but have got pretty good in the last few months - every month I find ways to add more detail."

Hot Damn! This really puts me in shame....
